It is powered by a Raspberry Pi RP2040 processor, which supports a range of graphical effects and four channels of 16-bit audio. The Thumby Color also has a USB-C port for connectivity and charging, and it offers free tools for users to create their own games.
The Kickstarter campaign for the Thumby Color has been highly successful, surpassing its initial goal of $25,000 by a significant margin. As of now, the campaign has garnered over 670 backers and raised $57,761. The device is available in a “classic purple” design, with additional options for a translucent plastic cover and a Kickstarter-exclusive black edition. The Thumby Color is priced at $49, with the campaign set to end on September 11, 2024.
