OnePlus broke into sub-flagship smartphones for the global market with the Nord series; now, that OEM’s former CEO Carl Pei is now thought to bring his new brand Nothing in the same direction with the upcoming Phone (2a).
That device has allegedly turned up in a tip that allegedly captures the device showing its AnTuTu score off in advance of its impending launch. Furthermore, the so-called (2a) is accompanied by 2 other smartphones doing the same. They are named as the Nord CE 3 and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in this new leak.
While the pre-existing devices were depicted as scoring 636,531 and 714,067 respectively, the Phone (2a) outdid both at 738,164 – all the more impressive as it is said to run on the aging Dimensity 7200 processor.
There is no guarantee that this is the case, however, or even that the Phone (2a) really features in this unique new in-the-wild leak – on the other hand, it seems to be identified by its model number in the app, and to have been photographed in the same anti-leak case (that nonetheless revealed its oddly binocular new camera hump) from a previous tip.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
