A fiery head chef who caused a storm after he banned vegans from his restaurant is now taking aim at loved-up couples ahead of Valentine’s Day.
The Fyre restaurant in Perth, Australia, which is owned by celebrity chef John Mountain, posted a tempting Valentine’s Day offer on its social media pages – but it doesn’t apply to parties of two.
Fyre is offering 25 per cent off the total bill for tables of three on the romantic holiday – and stipulated some type of ‘photo evidence’ is required to retrieve the deal.
However, the restaurant did not specify exactly what the photo evidence is supposed to prove.
It is not the first that Fayre – which is run by UK-born celebrity chef John Mountain – has posted something unusual and divisive on its social media accounts.

In June last year, Mr Mountain banned vegans from his restaurant after a run-in with an unhappy customer.
She complained that her ‘only option’ was ‘the vegetable dish… it was okay but not that filling… and I was shocked to see it was $32’.
‘I think it’s incredibly important nowadays that restaurants can accommodate everyone and to not be able to have actual plant-based meals shows your shortcomings as a chef,’ she added.
The restaurant responded in fiery fashion, replying: ”Thanks for your negative review… please feel free to share your s**tty experience and I look forward to not seeing you again.
‘You and all your vegan mates can all go and enjoy your dishes in another venue. You are now banned.’
Referencing Mr Mountain’s previous ban on vegans in reply to the Facebook post advertising the unusual Valentine’s discount, users took the chance to poke fun at the celebrity chef.
One user wrote: ‘Two is company, three is a crowd but I’ll bring a vegan’.
A second quipped: ‘I will book a table if you have vegan options please’.
A third asked: ‘Is that for vegans?’
Another seemed excited by the offer, as they wrote: ‘Yay you’re back’.
