Is The Block rigged? Judges slammed for their ‘inconsistent’ and ‘bias’ critique – as fans reveal why they can’t stand newcomer ‘real estate a**hole’ Marty Fox

The Block judges Darren Palmer and Marty Fox have come under fire for their inconsistent and bias judging style on this season of the Channel Nine’s renovation show.

Fans of the show called out the real estate gurus after this week’s judging of the contestants’ studios – which led to Steph and Gian win for House 4.

In a post on Reddit, viewers claimed the judges were showing favouritism for the married couple, pointing out their studio was nothing but a ‘sad beige guest room’.

One fan complained the judges had not taken off points for Steph and Gian’s studio for a supposed ‘lack of amenities’.

Viewers agreed the real winner should have been House 5, which they believed had been overlooked by the judges, even though it had features Houses 1-3 didn’t have.

The judges ended up ‘hating’ Eliza and Liberty’s studio because of a ‘rug and wallpaper choice’.

‘The judges this year are driving me crazy,’ one raged.

‘They don’t hold each house to the same expectations or objective and contradict themselves at every turn. This weeks studio captures it perfectly.’

Meanwhile other fans responded positively to the judges feedback.

‘House 4 was different,’ one argued.

‘It’s actually part of the main house as opposed to separate like the others. 

‘So therefore it didn’t need to have the same amenities as they wanted in others. House 5 looked terrible. Honestly looked like a cheap motel room. I thought judges feedback was pretty on point.’

Another agreed: ‘The right team won in my opinion.’

‘I also agree with 90% of the things the judges said.’

‘House 4’s studio is within the main house. So it doesn’t need to be fully self contained,’ added another fan.

‘House 5’s looked horrible, the styling was not what you’d expect in a multimillion dollar house.’

It comes after The Block’s new judge Marty Fox copped the ire of Liberty’s mother on Monday night after he brutally criticised her styling skills during the studio reveal.

The real estate agent, who has temporarily taken over Neale Whitaker’s job, made Liberty cry with his harsh comments.

And the 34-year-old producer’s mother wasn’t having it, calling the property guru an ‘a**hole’ when she was on the phone with her distraught daughter.

Marty had some harsh criticisms for the Melbournite when he said an empty granny flat would have been an improvement on her styling.

After losing all confidence in her styling choices, the fan favourite promptly burst into tears during the following episode as she called her mother for support.
