Fans appeared to rejoice on social media on Monday in the wake of news that Ariana Grande had broken her professional ties with manager Scooter Braun after 10 years.
Grande, 30, on Monday decided to sever her business relationship with Braun, 42, and his company SB Projects, Billboard reported, following a decade spanning six albums she put out.
The feedback on social media appeared to support the Positions performer in her business decision – which came as Demi Lovato also parted ways with Braun – with many citing Braun getting a comeuppance after his controversial 2019 purchase of Taylor Swift’s master recordings.
‘The bar pausing in the middle of Taylor Swift trivia night to announce that Ariana Grande has been added to the list of stars dropping Scooter Braun and getting cheers and applause I love it here,’ one user said.
Another quoted a Swift lyric from her 2022 track Karma that read, ‘KARMA’S GONNA TRACK U DOWN, STEP BY STEP FROM TOWN TO TOWN.’
