Some Realme fans in India may have wondered where the vanilla 11 got to when its Pro and Pro+ siblings made their 2023 debut in the country. However, it seems the smartphone is on the way after all, as part of the upcoming 5th Anniversary event.
Furthermore, Realme has announced the launch of an apparently completely different additional smartphone on that date. The brand claims to have “doubled” its usual amount of “R&D investment” to develop a new “Glory Halo Design” camera hump that might put many Android fans most in mind of the OnePlus 11.
Unlike that flagship, however, the new device clearly has just 2 rear shooters – although 1 is touted to have “double the industry’s HD & Night Shot Quality“, an argument seemlngly based on the fact it is 108MP rather than 50MP. It also has 3x zoom, although whether that value pertains to an optical or digital mode remains to be seen.
Realme has also equipped the smartphone’s 5,000mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC charging, about double that of a certain competitor. The brand also asserts that it will introduce the “World’s 1st Low-Power 5G Hotspot” to its market.
Despite its looks, the new device is a member of the 11 series. Realme will announce full specs and pricing for it and its vanilla sibling on August 23, 2023.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
