Anker has launched the SOLIX PS400 Solar Panel (400W), which is already on sale in the US. The company claims its new model has a 23% conversion efficiency, providing 1.5X faster charging times than similar products; Anker does not call out any particular models. The improved charging speed results from combining monocrystalline silicon solar cells and an increased volume of trapped sunlight.
The angle of the solar panel can be adjusted to 40°, 50°, or 60° using the integrated kickstand. The company suggests using the gadget to charge Anker portable power stations; for example, it could fully recharge the Anker SOLIX F2000 Portable Power Station in 5.7 hours. The device is IP67 waterproof, making it suitable for outdoor use, measuring 35.9 × 25.9 × 1.9-in (~913 × 659 × 47 mm) when folded and 102 × 35.9 × 1.2-in (~2,591 × 913 × 30 mm) when unfolded.
The solar panel comes with two 9.84 ft (~3.00 m) MC4 solar charging extension cables and an MC4 to XT-60 solar charging cable converter. You can now buy the Anker SOLIX PS400 Solar Panel (400W) in the US for US$999.99. Amazon listings for the product have appeared in the Netherlands, France and Germany, though the solar panel is not currently available. It remains unclear when the device will be available in Europe or how much it will cost.
