The Block’s Scott Cam speaks out about Channel Seven’s rival reno series hosted by Chris Brown: ‘Stay off my turf!’
Chris Brown is the new kid on the block in the reality television home space, as his new Channel 7 renovation series is due to air next year.
The Bondi Vet is taking on a new challenge with Dream Home, which will see couples transform their house into their dream property.
Internet users have said the new Channel 7 program sounds very similar to the popular reality show The Block – which also sees couples battle it out to be crowned the best home renovators.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle about the rival series, The Block host Scott Cam joked that Chris should stay in his lane.
‘Stay off my turf, Browny!’ he said, before adding: ‘Chris is a great mate of mine and good luck to him.

‘Competition is healthy and if his show rates reasonably well, that means that people are still interested in this style of television.
‘As soon as they stop watching other shows or our show, then that’s the end of that style.’
Chris recently joined Channel 7 on a million-dollar deal after leaving Channel 10, and rumours had been swirling for a while that he would be hosting a Block-style show.

Last June, Channel 7 put out a casting notice for Dream Home, as it was looking for ‘dynamic duos’ to transform their homes for free with the winner receiving a life-changing prize

A casting notice for the new show reads: ‘Are you ready to renovate and transform your house into the home of your dreams?
‘Not only will you get a luxury makeover of your house for free, but you will also be competing for a life-changing cash prize!
‘You don’t need to be a builder or a tradie, just someone with an eye for design and a drive to get your hands dirty. What are you waiting for?’
