Nineties pop legend looks sensational as she strips down to bikini aged 53 – three decades after smash hit
Iconic nineties pop star Whigfield looked sensational as she stripped down to a black bikini to enjoy the summer sun recently.
The singer, 53, took to her Instagram page to share some snaps of herself in her swimwear, nearly 30 years after the release of her smash hit song Saturday Night.
She posed for some pictures in the two piece while on a recent holiday in Italy.
The Danish star, real name Sannie Charlotte Carlson, fronted Italian dance act Whigfield.
She achieved worldwide success with 1993 release Saturday Night, which reached the top 10 in a number of different countries the following year, while she hit the top spot in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.

Known by her stage names Whigfield, Naan and Sannie, she is still making music today.
Appearing on breakfast show Lorraine in 2019, the singer admitted a healthy lifestyle as helped her maintain a youthful complexion.
She said: ‘The secret is do everything different to what you did in the 90s. I sleep every night at 10, I eat healthy and I exercise everyday.
‘I’m not a naughty girl anymore.’
Reflecting on life away from the spotlight, Whigfield also revealed she lives on the outskirts of Milan, in the Italian countryside.
She said: ‘In the old days I was just so busy. I was sometimes promoting three singles at the same time.
‘It was mad. Now I stop and smell the roses.’
The performer admitted she has turned her back on mainstream music over recent years, opting instead to focus on the vibrant international club scene.
She added: ‘I’ve been doing house music for the past three years. I’ve been writing music for other DJS.’

Whigfield previously said she was ‘really honoured’ the song became so popular, but wishes she’d have been more prepared for her sudden rise to fame.
‘I wish someone would have prepared you for these things, because you’re kind of just pushed out into the whole thing,’ she told 9Honey.
‘You need a strong personality and I think you have to be sure of what you’re doing.
‘Because I love being on stage – I really enjoy it sincerely and I love the audience.’
