Gaming coolers are an increasingly popular form of mobile device accessory, as are MagSafe-style chargers. That may be why OnePlus has combined both in the course of its latest announcement. The product in question might put some consumers in mind of an external GPU housing connected to a wireless charging puck – and that is apparently because they would not be far wrong.
The accessory does indeed seem to reflect OnePlus’ increasing interest in PC-style thermal management for mobile devices, as it is touted to confer liquid cooling on devices such as smartphones and tablets – albeit not directly.
Apparently, excess heat will be drawn out via a magnetic puck, through a thick red cable and into the main Radiator’s housing, which means wireless charging is required for compatibility with the accessory. Accordingly, the new OnePlus accessory is rated to integrate a power supply for this purpose.
Therefore, this Liquid Cooling Radiator is not one for owners of the current top-end 11 – nor may it be directed at potential buyers of the Ace 2 Pro, with next-gen cooling of its own.
However, its appearance on a new JD.com page ahead of its August 9, 2023 debut on the site just might be a new clue that the forthcoming OnePlus 12 might be better suited to such a new companion.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
