The ‘active vlogging lifestyle’ brand Insta360 has updated its 360° X3 and tiny GO cameras in 2023 – now, could it be possible that the ONE RS is next? The device comes with interchangeable lenses thanks to its modular build, and can thus ship in 4K or Twin (which can switch between 4K and 360° modes) forms.
That innovative, customizable take on the action camera does not come cheap, however, with the 4K version starting at US$299. It is currently 16% off on insta360.com right now however, with 20% (or up to US$110) off the Twin Edition.
That version has become even cheaper on Amazon as of late, going for just US$408 (or 26% off its retail price) – which might be a hint that a ONE RS successor is on the way. Insta360 itself has abruptly announced that it does indeed have a product event scheduled for tomorrow (August 3, 2023) at 9:00 EDT (18:00 CET).
Its new Instagram teaser has a video clip that gives the impression of some kind of new, amphibious and possibly even airborne gadget at work. Then again, as some commenters have noticed, the footage in question could also have been achieved by an X3 in its famous “bullet time” while also using the new “invisible dive case” that leaked out in the code for its latest update.
Therefore, it is more likely that the accessory is indeed the subject of the impromptu launch.
I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
