A new teaser was released for horror flick Longlegs – which is said to be ‘psychologically scarring’ – on Monday as it showed that Maika’s, 31, heart rate spiked as she saw what 60-year-old Nicholas’ character looked like for the first time.
The minute-long clip was the latest in a creative promotional push for the Neon produced film as it began with words flashing across the screen which gave the premise for the video.
It read: ‘The first time Maika Monroe saw Nicolas Cage as Longlegs was in the following scene.
‘What you’re about o hear is Maika’s actual heartbeat.’

Things ramp up even more as Nicolas could be heard whimpering as she approaches him.
She then sits across from him as her heart rate jumps exponentially and tears begin running down her face.
There is still quite a bit of mystery regarding what Nicolas’ titular character looks like as his face is entirely censored.
The end of the clip revealed the shocking statistics as it read: ‘Maika’s resting heart rate is 76bpm.
‘In this scene, it hit 170bpm.’
