DeepComputing has introduced a new RISC-V mainboard compatible with the Framework Laptop 13. This mainboard, powered by the StarFive JH7110 System on Chip (SoC), represents a significant advancement in the adoption of RISC-V architecture. The StarFive JH7110 SoC features four 64-bit SiFive U74 RISC-V processor cores, capable of speeds up to 1.5 GHz, and includes Imagination BXE-4-32 graphics, supporting up to 4K video playback and 1080p video encoding. This mainboard is designed to run popular operating systems such as Canonical’s Ubuntu Desktop and Server, and Fedora Desktop OS, making it a versatile option for developers and enthusiasts.
The introduction of this mainboard marks the first independently developed RISC-V mainboard for a Framework Laptop.
