One week after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) granted South Africa’s request for provisional measures to halt a possible genocide in Gaza, Israel’s continued assault has reportedly killed more than a thousand people, and injured more than two thousand.
The Israeli government also not only failed to stop a conference that some of its allies fear may have featured genocidal rhetoric, but saw a significant part of its cabinet in attendance.
Stopping such rhetoric, and not killing or injuring Palestinians in Gaza, were among the most direct orders the ICJ gave Israel.
