Three people have been stabbed at a railway station in Paris.
The attack, at the major travel hub Gare de Lyon, ended when police arrested a suspect.
One person is seriously injured after the incident at around 8am local time (7am in the UK).
The attacker, whose motives are still unknown, was armed with a sharp weapon.
He is said to have an Italian driving licence, according to French newspaper Le Monde.
France’s national railway company, SNCF, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter to warn customers of disruption due to “an act of malicious intent”.
They said halls 1 and 3 were “temporarily inaccessible ” due to intervention by the police and emergency services, with delays between Paris Gare de Lyon and Montargis and between Paris Gare de Lyon and Montereau.
Security has been ramped up in the French capital, ahead of its hosting of the Olympic Games at the end of July.
Around 10,500 Olympians and millions of visitors will descend on the city for the event, with the opening ceremony due to take place 26 July.
Paris has been repeatedly hit by terror attacks, most notably in 2015 when 130 were killed and hundreds wounded in co-ordinated attacks across the city.
Most recently, a man targeted passers-by near the Eiffel Tower in December, killing a German tourist with a knife and injuring two others.
