Three known sources, of varying levels of respect and regard, have offered up information and opinion about a Nintendo Switch 2 reveal. Starting with Nash Weedle, this particular source has been very indirect, simply stating in a machine-translated X post that information about the Switch 2 has increased in the last week in “an extreme way”. This is obviously a hint that the additional noise has been created by an upcoming event, which is more directly alluded to by the somewhat controversial YouTube channel Nintendo Prime.
In a recent episode, host Nathaniel Rumphol-Janc struggles to contain his excitement while sharing alleged insider information from someone that purportedly works in retail channels. Apparently, GameStop management have been put on some kind of alert to prepare for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders (important to note here that “Switch 2” is still just the oft-used media-created name for the next-generation console from Nintendo). Rumphol-Janc claims the trusted source reached out to him “independently” and offered up the exclusive details.
If there is any truth that GameStop is preparing for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, this would certainly suggest a reveal was going to occur very soon. It is then opined that a Switch 2 reveal could even take place next week, and if that does not happen then it is likely there will be a reveal by the end of March at the latest. This would make sense (presuming the “insider information” is accurate), as once verified console information starts being shared with retailers, the leak floodgates will likely burst open, so a short time between reveal and pre-orders is vital for Nintendo.
The channel host wobbles a little at one point though, stating “I’m not promising that this thing’s being unveiled next week. If it is, I guess maybe you heard it here first. I don’t know. But I’m not saying that that’s going to happen. It’s still speculation.” In addition, another frequent Switch 2 commenter, NateTheHate, has seemingly responded to this rumor on social media with a GIF saying “I have doubts”. It’s a risky move for Nintendo Prime, because if there is no Nintendo Switch 2 reveal by the end of March, there will likely be some discontent issuing from his considerable subscriber base. For those who can’t wait any longer, the original Switch is available on Amazon from $289.99 at the moment.
