Secretary of State Antony Blinken is meeting with Israeli officials on Wednesday to discuss a possible deal to release the Israeli hostages held by Hamas in return for an extended pause in fighting.
The proposal includes an initial six-week cessation of fighting and release of all civilian hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. In return, Israel would release three Palestinian prisoners for every one hostage.
