Ginny and Georgia season 3 receives a disappointing release update, despite how well the show performed on Netflix following season 2’s release in January 2023. Between January and June 2023, Ginny and Georgia set an impressive streaming record, with 665 million hours streamed, making it the second-most-streamed title to release a new season in the first half of 2023. The Night Agent, which had its season 1 release in March 2023, was the only Netflix title debuting new episodes that surpassed Ginny and Georgia during those months.
According to Deadline, Ginny and Georgia season 3 won’t be released in 2024, with 2025 being the soonest that the new season will be available to stream. Ginny and Georgia was noticeably absent from Netflix’s recent video showcasing their slate of series releasing in 2024, meaning that there will be at least a two-year wait between seasons 2 and 3. The series was renewed for season 3 and 4 in May 2023, but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes delayed the new seasons from being further developed for months following the news of the renewal.
The Big Plot Point Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Needs To Tackle
Ginny and Georgia season 2’s ending saw Georgia Miller being arrested and taken away by the authorities at her own wedding for the murder of Cynthia Fuller’s husband, Tom. While Ginny Miller has learned many of Georgia’s secrets, this is one that she was not privy to, which could reignite some of the trust and relationship issues that she and Georgia had finally worked through toward the end of the season. This could also affect some of Ginny’s social relationships and the progress she’s made with her mental health, especially with the public spotlight now on Georgia.
Georgia’s son and Ginny’s brother, Austin, witnessed Georgia taking Tom off his life support and thereby killing him, not knowing that his mother was doing this as a favor to Cynthia. Austin told no one about what he saw, and will surely be grappling with guilt, even though Georgia’s arrest wasn’t his fault. With at least two full years passing between seasons 2 and 3, the young actor who plays Austin, Diesel La Torraca, will likely look and sound significantly older, though it remains to be seen if there will be a time jump in the story to address this.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s new husband, Mayor Paul Randolph, will likely do everything in his power to help his wife, even though it will affect his political career. In order to be acquitted of Tom’s death, Georgia will need legal representation in Ginny and Georgia season 3. The lawyer Georgia usually uses, Marty, would not be the ideal option given his ties to her criminal past. Paul certainly has the connections to buy Georgia a fancy lawyer, but Ginny’s father, Zion Miller, may push for his girlfriend, Simone, to represent Georgia as she is a criminal defense attorney and someone Zion trusts.
