Despite the best efforts of many western journalists it’s former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson who has been granted the rare opportunity to interview Vladimir Putin.
A long-time purveyor of outrage at the Murdoch controlled network, Carlson entertained millions with his opinions on politics and right-wing conspiracies.
Before joining Fox his most well-known media gig was hosting Crossfire on CNN, when in 2004 Daily Show host Jon Stewart made an infamous appearance clashing with Carlson and criticising the show itself.

After the cancellation of Crossfire Carlson ended up at Fox, where he would go on to become one of the loudest voices in conservative media.
In 2018 advertisers pulled their sponsorship and boycotted the show after he said immigrants were making the US “poorer, dirtier and more divided”.
He was also a vocal supporter of Donald Trump’s claims the 2020 election was rigged and along with fellow Fox hosts he publicly peddled the conspiracy theory to his viewers, all while privately mocking Trump’s allies and describing him as a “demonic force”.
Tucker has since parted ways with the network and has taken to Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, for a new show. That’s also where we’ll be tuning in for his big ticket interview soon.
