Xiaomi is currently busy preparing for the Mobile World Congress at the end of February, which will probably bring not only the Xiaomi 14 and possibly Xiaomi 14 Pro as global versions but apparently even the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to Europe. However, the development labs have also long been busy with the next generation of Xiaomi foldables. The successor to the Mix Fold 3 is expected to be released outside of China for the first time this year, at least according to rumors, since a global model was discovered in the IMEI database.
It was already mentioned a few days ago by a leaker that the competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 and the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6, which is expected to be released in the summer, would arrive at European ports. Now the Indian leaker Kartikey Singh has also provided more information on some of the planned improvements. Apparently, the Mix Fold 4 will – once again – offer a comprehensive update to the hinge, which allowed the Mix Fold 3 to remain stable in a half-open state, like Samsung’s Foldables, in order to function as a camera tripod, for example.
According to the leaker, the new generation of the hinge will be even more resistant and noticeably lighter at the same time – at 250 grams, the Mix Fold currently weighs significantly more than the competition from Honor and Co., which is now available in Europe. Xiaomi also apparently wants to counter Samsung’s waterproof hinges with the Mix Fold 4, so the Mix Fold 4 could also have IP certification for the first time. Of course, the leaker’s statements must still be classified as rumors without any evidence.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 will adopt the new generation of keel shaft Hinge Technology, the main highlight of the new Hinge is that it is more durable, lesser crease and waterproof.
The overall Folding machine is going under massive physical change, weight has been reduced…
