This Morning fans are slamming phone-in agony aunt Dear Deidre due to some advice she gave a woman who called in to talk about a dilemma she was suffering from.
The caller revealed that she was a parent to a six-month baby, and that her husband, who was in the army lives three hours away.
She found out that while he was deployed, he had cheated on her with four women.
Now, she said, she didn’t know what to do – whether to stay or leave, and that she couldn’t stop thinking about it.
When Deidre asked what the husband had said about his cheating, the caller said she had ‘never heard him beg so much’, but she ‘could not get [the cheating] out of [her] head’.

In terms of why it had happened, the caller said her husband blamed the cultured of being away, and the peer pressure, saying that when away, sleeping with other women was often something the ‘lads’ did.
In response to the situation, Deidre suggested: ‘It’s such good news that your husband is very remorseful that he is very sorry. So now what you need to do is put in sort of practical building blocks to try and rebuild a trust between in.’
She added that the two need to ‘express their love for one another’.
‘You know, sometimes it feels a bit…unromantic to say but you have to make sure that you do have a kiss and a cuddle every day,’ added Deidre.
‘That you that he says “I love you”, that you really talk to one another…try and set aside even if it’s five minutes where you really check in with one another emotionally, so you know where you are.’
The advice was criticised by X (formerly Twitter) users, with one saying: ‘Have a kiss and a cuddle…problem solved, thanks Deidre #ThisMorning.’

Social media users said that the husband was a cheater, suggesting that no amount of therapy would fix his ways

In a similar vein, another said: ‘#ThisMorning I can’t believe she suggested counseling when it’s clear as day the bloke is a serial cheat ? No amount of marriage guidance will sort him out. He wants to have his cake and eat it then have second’s and thirds.’
Deidre concluded by recommending the couple reads a book by Neil Sinclair because it is ‘so confidence building for dads’.
She added: ‘You are put under a lot of stress and it does take a lot of resilience on your part…to really withstand all the pressures that are on it. So do look at your own life as well. And think about ways to build resilience in there so that you’re not spending all your time just thinking about him and where he is and what he’s doing.’
