The United States says three army troops have been killed and at last 25 others injured in a drone attack in Jordan.
US President Joe Biden claimed the attack on US forces was carried out by “radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq”.
The attack was described by the US as an unmanned aerial drone assault on a small US base in north-east Jordan, near the Syria border.
It is the first time US forces have been killed since tensions in the Middle East flared following the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.
