Local design studio A Threshold creates the Ineffable Light residence, which is a family home located on an urban plot in Bangalore, India. It is a balanced home with natural light entering without compromising the privacy of those who reside in it. The skylight fills the courtyard with an abundance of plants and the defining feature of the Ineffable Light is the seamless merge of indoor and outdoor spaces. The house has glazed openings and stepped balconies with shading informed by the plants.
The studio explains the concept behind the design, stating “We aimed to evolve a design language that maximises the use of natural light, ventilation, and accessible green spaces within the home. This approach creates a more porous environment, giving rise to a series of connections and fostering interaction, further enhancing the users’ way of life. t’s an attempt to transform the space into a place, making the house into a home that celebrates life.”
