French designer and ceramicist Alan Louis introduces a new collection that highlights furniture and lighting that is crafted from chamotte stoneware. It was presented at this year’s Maison&Objet — the designer explains the concepts behind the design, stating, “When we plunge our hands into it, thoughts flow from the mind, creating images, shapes, which slip into the fingers and infiltrate the material. Ideas materialize live. It’s magical.”
The new collection of designs explores duality when it comes to observing beauty, showcasing how opposite and juxtaposing designs can come together to create an unexpected piece of art. It features tables, lamps, tables, and concepts with minimal structures and spiked accents that are added for a striking visual contrast.
