Chocolate lovers are in for a real treat this Easter as Cadbury launch a variation of a beloved confectionary product – but it’s been given an egg-cellent twist.

The renowned Caramac bar was a Nestlé product and had been a fan favourite since the 1950s, but was discontinued last year due to low sales.

Known for its distinctive caramel taste and golden appearance, Caramac’s spin-off Caramilk has since been popularised by Cadbury over the years – and, this Easter, it’s about to arrive in the form of an egg.

A large Cadbury Caramilk egg has appeared on supermarket shelves two months before Easter falls on March 29, meaning fans have plenty of time to snap up the delicious treat.

The golden Easter snack will include a Large 150g Caramilk egg, as well as a 28g bar of Caramilk, and can be purchased for £3.00 at Tesco.

Chocolate lovers are in for a real treat this Easter as Cadbury relaunch a discontinued fan favourite – but the Caramilk bar has been given an egg-cellent twist

A post that showcased the new Easter egg was shared by Newfoodsuk on Facebook yesterday, alongside a caption that read: ‘New Cadbury Caramilk Chocolate Easter Egg now available at Tesco!!’

More than 200 fans flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the remastered product, with many already on the hunt to secure the caramel-flavoured egg.

One person excitedly wrote, ‘I need one of these,’ while another said, ‘What a great flavour they made now the real one has gone.’

One shopper, who had already managed to find and indulge in the Easter treat reported: ‘Tried it and loved it!’

A fourth hopeful Caramac fan wrote: ‘Makes up for getting rid of the chocolate bar.’

This comes after a survey revealed the discontinued chocolate bars people most want to make a comeback in 2022.

Many Britons are familiar with the heartbreak of having their favourite chocolate disappear from the supermarket shelves, with brands regularly trimming down their offerings to make way for new ones.

A survey by Jackpotjoy of 2,000 British adults revealed which treats of past Christmases Britons would love to return in their ‘dream’ selection box tub.

It found 8 per cent would love to see the Cadbury Dream, a white chocolate bar that is only available to buy in B&M, return in miniature form.

Meanwhile others were craving the Echo bar, as well as the Mars Delight.

Cadbury Dream was launched in Australia and New Zealand in 2001 and was introduced in the UK a year later.

It was discontinued not long after and made a brief return in 2019 as ‘Cadbury White,’

According to the survey, the nation also dearly misses Cadbury Marble, with 7.9 per cent voting for the bar to return.

The treat, which featured a milk chocolate and white chocolate blend with a hazelnut praline centre is only available in Australia, having been discontinued in 2012.
