It seems that AYANEO might finally be ready to release the FLIP, a gaming handheld that it originally conceived as one model. In summary, the FLIP has undergone numerous changes since its public debut over 18 months ago. Not only has AYANEO upgraded its internals and design, but it has also added a new model with a secondary display.
According to several posts on its official Twitter account, both the FLIP DS and FLIP KB will be going live early next week. Specifically, the company has mentioned a January 30 launch at 12:00 UTC. As always, AYANEO will bring the FLIP series to crowdfunding platform Indiegogo first, just as it did with its AM01 and AM02 mini-PCs.
Thus, AYANEO seems prepared to fulfil its ‘end of January’ release commitment that it outlined earlier this month. Unfortunately, pricing remains unknown for now, as does a date by which AYANEO will begin shipping orders. Presumably, the company will do so within the next days, although the series’ Indiegogo campaign is already viewable in its preview state.
