This year, the initiative is titled ‘The World Is Not Better Without You.’ Running throughout September, which is Suicide Prevention Month, the campaign aims to challenge misconceptions and myths surrounding suicide and encourage proactive steps towards prevention.
To Write Love on Her Arms underscores the importance of having open conversations and support networks. The campaign acknowledges the global reach of suicide’s impact, emphasizing that suicide claims 700,000 lives annually worldwide and over 50,000 lives in the US alone.
The public is encouraged to engage in several ways with the suicide prevention campaign—from purchasing the Suicide Prevention Pack and making donations to using the hashtag #NotBetterWithoutYou on social media. To Write Love on Her Arms’ goal is to raise $300,000 in order to sponsor counseling, therapy sessions, and the expansion of its FIND HELP Tool.
