Earlier today, Xiaomi revealed the release date for the POCO M6 Pro 5G, the first member of the POCO M6 series and re-brand of both the Redmi 12 5G and Redmi Note 12R. To date, Xiaomi has not shown the full design of its next POCO smartphone. Instead, it has elected to only show the device’s rear, confirming the presence of two cameras and a flat back panel.
Subsequently, Pricebaba has leaked what appear to be official renders of the POCO M6 Pro 5G in which the device can be viewed from all sides. As expected, the first POCO M6 series model has a 3.5 mm jack, a sign that it is on the lower order of Xiaomi’s product stack; all recent Xiaomi flagships lack the dedicated audio input. Additionally, the POCO M6 Pro 5G has a downward-firing speaker and a USB Type-C port, with an IR blaster joining the 3.5 mm jack on the device’s top edge.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has installed a display surrounded by a comparatively thick bottom bezel, another sign that the POCO M6 Pro 5G is a more affordable smartphone. In that vein, the device is rumoured to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a new budget Qualcomm chipset with 5G connectivity. Moreover, the POCO M6 Pro 5G is anticipated to arrive on August 5 with a 90 Hz and 1080p display, as well as 50 MP primary and 8 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras. Pricing has not surfaced yet, but we would expect the POCO M6 Pro 5G to cost about as much as the Redmi 12 5G, which retails for INR 10,999 (~US$133).
