Earlier today, the Xiaomi MS11 electric car was allegedly spotted undergoing road tests in Xinjiang. However, the reports come with pictures of a heavily camouflaged vehicle that matches the renders of the upcoming electric car published so far. What makes this even more interesting is that no less than four cars are allegedly being tested, and Lei Jun is most likely driving together with Lu Weibing (possibly in separated cars).
Today’s spottings uncovered some minor details, for example the presence of yellow calipers and an interior center console with sharp edges. The Xiaomi MS11 is expected to launch in two versions, one equipped with LIDAR, and the other without it.
According to Xiaomiui, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun posted a group photo on Weibo showing the testing team and taken using the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. The photo’s location is Xinjiang, around the same place where Lu Weibing took a photo and shared it on Weibo as well. This photo shows the shadows of two people, most likely the two Xiaomi officials mentioned above.
Lei Jun announced the upcoming electric car by Xiaomi at the end of March 2021. After a few delays, it is now expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of next year. Xiaomi’s electric vehicles branch technically was born in September 2021, and if they manage to get all the needed state approvals and launch the MS11 by mid-2024, this would definitely be a huge success for the popular Chinese OEM.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
