An angry woman, whose home had been repeatedly used as a backdrop for a photo shoot by a pair of influencers for several months, has unleashed and told them to find legitimate employment.
Tayla Mellington and Ruby Ennor from 2021 Love Island Australia shared a series of videos on Saturday after the Gold Coast woman confronted them while they were taking photos outside her apartment block.
The pair said they were taking photos outside Mali Residences, a high-end apartment block at Mermaid Beach, when the woman came out of the building with her baby.
Neither of the influencers lives at Mali Residences.
‘We just went and [made] some content at Mali Residences… We were there,’ Tayla started.
Ruby cut in: ‘Minding our own business, to the side.’

Tayla continued: ‘[We were] taking a photo of Ruby and this chick comes up and starts abusing us.
‘She’s like, “You’re devaluing the property, I’m gonna call the police”. We just didn’t say anything, and she’s like, “You really don’t care, do you?” and I was like, “No, not really”.’
Ruby chimed in to explain their response: ‘You know when someone’s going at you, you just ignore it because we’re not channelling into that energy.
‘And she kept going!’
Ruby claims the woman began questioning if they take photos outside other properties.
‘She goes, “Would you go and stand in front of someone else’s house and take photos?” and we’re like, “Well yeah, we do that”.’
Tayla continued: ‘She’s like, “Well you’re invading their privacy”, so I’m like, “I’m not going into their home, out the front on the footpath is where we take photos, we’d never go into someone’s property”.’

The woman (pictured above) told the pair to ‘get a real job’ and made the nasty comment that if they were more ‘attractive’ they’d ‘get paid to do modelling’

Tayla and Ruby have been posting photos from outside Mali Residences (above) for several months despite neither of them living there
Ruby said the woman’s remarks then turned personal with her commenting on how ‘attractive’ the pair were.
‘She goes, “Why don’t you go get a real job? You don’t make money this way”,’ she said.
‘Then she goes, “If you were that attractive, you’d get paid to do modelling”.’
Tayla continued: ‘I was like, “Excuse you?” and then she puts the finger up – mind you she has a baby.’
The pair said they were complaining about the aggressive exchange and calling the woman a ‘b**ch’ when a second resident called out their behaviour.
‘She was like, “What did you say about her” so I said, “I called her a b***ch,’ Tayla said.
‘I was like, “She just told me I’m not pretty and not attractive. She’s like, “Well she shouldn’t have said that but we’re sick of all this”.
‘So I’m like, “Oh my god, we’re literally doing nothing wrong”.’
Tayla shared footage of the encounter in a follow-up video, including where the upset resident told them to ‘get a real job’.

Ruby said she and Tayla refused to respond to the woman’s anger because they’re ‘not channelling that energy’ (pictured, a photo of Ruby taken outside Mali Residences on Saturday)

Dozens of Aussies sided with the residents and told Tayla and Ruby ‘take photos at your own place’.
‘Sorry, but it is really obnoxious. It’s a pretty high-end apartment building and I don’t think the residents really want people making noise,’ another wrote.
‘I’m on the Karen’s side, find something better to do with your life besides taking selfies,’ a third said.
‘Not your property but you feel entitled to use it for a photo shoot. Who has the audacity?,’ another wrote.
However, others said the residents was being overdramatic.
‘Like honestly how does it really affect them? Life is way too short to let unimportant stuff like that ruin your day so much,’ one wrote.
‘Was she old? Another girl at the same place had this happen and they caught it on camera!,’ another said.
‘Can’t wrap my head around the fact people are so butthurt over a couple girls getting a picture,’ a third wrote.

Some comments under Tayla and Ruby’s rant called them ‘entitled’ while others said the angry resident was being overdramatic (pictured, Tayla posing outside Mali Residences in June)
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Tayla Mellington’s management for comment.
