Rich Holiday Poor Holiday viewers have slammed Channel 5 after two millionaire brothers were sent to work on a farm in order to experience what it’s like to be on the other side of the wealth divide.

Leeds-based twin brothers Hassan and Hussien, 29, swapped lives with insurance workers Gary, 41, and his girlfriend Janet, 54, who have just £157-a-week to live on.

The twins, who have their own cosmetic dental practice, were sent to work on a farm in Pembrokeshire, paying £300 for the privilege.

But viewers have complained that mucking in a farm is ‘not a holiday’ and slammed producers as ‘out of touch’ for thinking that’s what poor people do for fun.

‘Producers have made a mistake this week….do they actually believe poor people go on farm labouring holidays!? Ridiculous programme made by our of touch producers’ wrote one fan.

Leeds-based twin brothers Hassan and Hussien (pictured), 29, swapped lives with insurance workers Gary, 41, and his girlfriend Janet, 54, who have just £157-a-week to live on

The brothers, who grew up on a council estate in Leeds, had never been to Wales and weren’t fans of the countryside, instead favouring luxury cars and designer clothes.

Use to the high life, they go on holiday every single month, enjoying skiing in the winter and Balearic islands in the summer.

The pair also have a private chef come to cook for them three times a week.

‘We recently hired a private jet,’ Hassan explains. ‘It was a $60,000 [£48,000] return flight’.

The pair were sent to work with farmer Gerald on his crop and livestock 120-acre farm and camp out in tents.

After the first night, the brothers said it was the ‘worst night sleep they’ve ever had’ and hoped to book a massage when they got back.

The twins said they became 'friends for life' with Farmer Gerald

While on the farm, they cleaned up muck and made food, joking: ‘Cooking for seven people isn’t my idea of a fun holiday’.

But eventually they came around to loving the idea of farm life, and donated £3000 to Gerald at the end of the week.

But fans weren’t convinced that Gary and Janet – who got sent on a luxury holiday to Iceland – would do farm work for fun.

‘I’m not buying that the poor couple go on farm volunteering holidays #richholidaypoorholiday,’ wrote one.

‘What’s with that farm labouring holiday…. it’s no holiday at all. Just cheap labour for the farmer! I would literally prefer to stay at home and go on day trips,’ added another.

‘Absolutely bizarre, the poor people have never been to this farm , it’s just the worst place they could think of #richholidaypoorholiday,’ commented a third.

‘I am not convinced that the couple go on the farming holidays!,’ said one.

‘How is mucking out on a farm a “holiday “ ?? Do people actually do that ? #richholidaypoorholiday,’ added another.

Meanwhile, as Hassan and Hussein were working hard on a farm, Gary and Janet jetted off to Iceland for a luxury trip.

‘Proud toyboy’ Gary, said that he hadn’t proposed to his ‘soulmate’ Janet because things were ‘financially tough’.

They jetted off for a luxury £10,000  adventure holiday in Iceland where they went whale spotting and visited active volcanoes.

On their final day, after waking up to a ‘magical’ morning where their hotel was surrounded in snow.

Taking in the fairy tale environment, Gary decides to finally get down on one knee and proposed later that day.

After heading into the five-star hotel’s restaurant, Gary popped the question in front of astonished guests.

As she walked into the room, Gary stopped to propose.

‘Janet, just stop the door and wait there, there’s nothing that’s gonna get in the way, will you marry me?’.

Absolutely delighted, she said yes.

It comes after the couple said they were concerned about getting married as they couldn’t afford it.

As well as working in insurance, Gary, takes gigs as a Michael Buble tribute act across the UK.

He tends to combine his holidays with his gigs to cover the cost of the holiday.

After being sent to Iceland, Janet initially questioned why anyone with money would travel there.

The couple faced their ‘worse nightmare’ after a £700-a-day guide took them on a five-mile, 250 metre climb up a mountain.

‘I’d rather be in a the pub,’ Gary noted.

Later, the pair were taken to see an active volcano, but were more interested in meeting other tourists, saying one was a ‘nice geezer’.

On their trip, Janet also got to live her lifelong dream of going whale watching, where they spotted at 15 metre humpback whale.

Changing her tune from the first day she noted: I can see why people will come here – it is a unique experience,’.
