After launching the Pad 6 Max yesterday in China, Xiaomi has now debuted another tablet—albeit one a lot less premium and for the global market—in the form of the Redmi Pad SE.
The Redmi Pad SE sports an 11-inch FHD+ 90 Hz LCD with a 400-nit peak brightness. Beneath the hood is a Snapdragon 680, the same chipset on last year’s Redmi Note 11. Hardly a performance monster but capable enough. The Redmi Pad SE can be equipped with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X and 128 GB of storage. Sadly, though, Xiaomi appears to have cut corners in the storage department, as the tablet eschews UFS storage in favor of massively outdated eMMC.
An 8 MP camera sits at the rear of the Redmi Pad SE, and a 5 MP camera out front. An 8000 mAh battery promises solid battery life, but corners are cut in the charging department as well, with the tablet being limited to 10 W charging. Borderline laughable, some would say. Other items on the Redmi Pad SE’s spec sheet include MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13, Bluetooth 5.0, quad speakers, and a 3.5 mm jack.
Pricing for the Redmi Pad SE is aggressive, though, and puts the aforementioned cut corners into perspective. The 4/128GB model starts at €199, the 6/128GB one at €229, and the 8/128GB SKU at €249. Three colorways are available: Lavender Purple, Graphite Gray, and Mint Green.
