Haofood is introducing vegan dumplings in a black truffle flavor filled with soup and peanut meat to mimic the taste and texture of steamed minced pork. Ordinarily, xiao long bao dumplings are filled with pork mince but this plant-based version serves as a satisfying alternative that’s packed with protein, high in dietary fiber and free from trans fat. These nutritious, full-flavor dumplings are poised to support the growing alt-meat market in China.
According to the company, peanut production is more resource-conscious than using other nuts because it requires less fertilizer and it’s a zero-waste crop.
As a whole, the Chinese company is focused on developing clean-label plant-based meat, which means its products are free from artificial additives, preservatives, thickeners, water retention agents, colorings, flavorings and MSG.
