Given the lack of a Moto G74 on the open market, Motorola’s rumored new smartphone might be the closest upgrade for the G73 in 2023. Accordingly, it might be expected to ship with at least 8GB of RAM and a mid-range SoC, possibly from MediaTek.
Speculation aside, the Moto G84 5G is much more certain to have the G73’s battery capacity, possibly with slightly faster 33W charging. It is also now tipped to support low-energy Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 5 and NFC on its launch. These specs were determined in the course of its FCC testing, which it passed as the Motorola XT-2347-2 on that regulator’s website.
TDRA has also just registered this model number, also overtly identifying it as the G84 5G in the process. It is said to debut in markets such as India soon, possibly alongside the Edge 40 Neo (or XT-2307-1) that is also the stuff of leaks at the moment.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
