Lily Allen admits she hasn’t spoken to daughters Ethel and Marnie in two WEEKS as ‘tired and lonely’ actress prepares for her final month onstage in The Pillowman
She’s winning accolades for her latest West End role, but Lily Allen admits it has disrupted her relationship with her children – who she hasn’t spoken to in weeks.
The singer and actress shares a home in New York City with husband David Harbour and her daughters, Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 10, from a former marriage to builder Sam Cooper.
But her starring role in a revival of Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman at London’s Duke Of York Theatre has kept her away from her loved ones during its ongoing three-month run.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Lily, 38, admitted she was battling loneliness as a result, exacerbated by her children’s attendance at a summer camp in the United States.
She wrote: ‘Hello Monday. 1 month to go of The Pillowman. Missing home, missing my bubbas who are both at summer camp, haven’t even spoken to them for 2 weeks! tired and lonely but the Banya always manages to get my blood going and lift my spirits.’

The British star accompanied the post with a fresh-faced selfie as she relaxed between performances.
The Pillowman is Lily’s latest acting role after she appeared as Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story last year.
She has taken on the role of Katurian, a writer of disturbingly violent stories who is imprisoned by a totalitarian state.
The songstress recently appeared on This Morning alongside her co-star Steve Pemberton to discuss the production.
She said: ‘There’s a bit of violence in it. She’s an artist and writer and that’s something I relate to. She definitely pushes boundaries. There was a lot for me to tap into.’
Lily, who is used to performing as a singer, told how she likes the settled nature of starring in a theatrical production.
She said: ‘I really like the routine of it all. I love being in one place. It’s nice not to get on a bus and move to the next destination.’
The role is a serious undertaking for Lily as she doesn’t leave the stage throughout the play’s duration.

She said: ‘There are so many lines. I started learning them in February. She reads out her stories. Five or six of her stories, I have to know off by heart.’
Steve also sang Lily’s praises, saying: ‘She’s absolutely smashing it. She carries the whole play because she never leaves the stage.’
Although she is enjoying her work, Lily said she has no desire for the play to receive an extended run as her children Ethel and Marnie are returning to school in September.
The Pillowman will run for a limited time only, finishing in early September.
