Lenovo introduced the new IdeaPad Pro 5i in 14 and 16-inch variants at CES 2023. Both models come with Raptor Lake-H processors and up to NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPUs. The 16-inch IdeaPad Pro 5i is currently on sale for US$824.99 on eBay which represents a whopping US$675 off the list price (slickdeals).
When it comes to hardware, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i 16 rocks a Core i5-13500H CPU, an RTX 3050 GPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5-5200 memory, and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. Handling display duties is a 16-inch 2.5K resolution IPS panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 100% coverage of the sRGB gamut, and 350 nits of brightness. Additionally, the laptop packs a 75 Wh battery and Wi-Fi 6.
On paper, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i 16 is a decent mid-range performer. The Core i5-13500H scored 13,941 and 1,744 points in the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core and Single-Core benchmarks in our testing. As a result, the Core i5-13500H is on par with the Ryzen 5 7645HX and only 10% behind the Core i7-13700H in the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core benchmark.
In other words, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i should easily cut through day-to-day tasks and then some.
Moving on, the 6 GB RTX 3050, although not the most powerful, has enough horsepower to play modern games at 1080p with medium to high graphic settings. For instance, the board played The Witcher 3 at 96.5 FPS (High), Final Fantasy XV at 70.3 FPS (Medium), and Cyberpunk 2077 at 64 FPS (Medium) at FHD resolution in our tests.
In short, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i could be a good buy, as it is a decently powerful machine that is now on sale at an attractive price.
