Julianne Moore got a warm and sunny jumpstart to her weekend by spending part of her afternoon with longtime bestie Ellen Barkin.
On Friday, the two acclaimed actresses appeared to be beaming with joy when they met up for lunch at a cozy restaurant in the West Village neighborhood of New York City.
The ladies, who have been best friends for many years, were spotted hugging and chatting when they arrived for their lunch date, and again when they said their goodbyes just outside the establishment.
Looking like they coordinated their outfits ahead of time, the gal pals both opted for casual-cool style in the fashion department.
Moore, 62, matched loose-fitting white denim pants with a black blazer over a black top, while Barkin, 69, also went with white pants with a loose design, only she decided to go with a matching top to round out her summer-ready look.

The Still Alice star’s white jeans were cut into a high-water design a few inches above her ankles.
In keeping with her summer look, she also donned a pair of black sandals, which were worn without socks, and a white baseball cap over her long red tresses.
Despite going with the hat, her locks still flowed over her ears, all the down over her chest in the front and to the middle of her back.
The Fort Bragg, North Carolina native accessorized with cool dark sunglasses, which not only helped shade her from the glaring sun but also helped give her some anonymity when paired with the cap.
Barkin’s baggy white pants were the perfect choice being that the temperatures have been between the 80s and 90s in recent days.
Her matching button-down shirt was a perfect compliment to her baggy pants, which were matched with a pair of white slip-on shoes.
Rounding out her overall look, the Switch actress wore a stylish fedora hat over her blonde locks that were pulled into a ponytail.
After sitting down to eat a light lunch and catch up with each other, the longtime best friends walked out of the restaurant together, chatted a few more moments, and then embraced with a goodbye hug.
