Huawei has shipped mobile devices in 4G-capable form only for several generations now: not even the current Mate X3 foldable flagship has 5G. However, it seems the OEM is back in these terms, having registered what might be its entire product portfolio for at least the next few years with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG).
The bumper leak pertains to what might be new MatePad-series tablets and Vision-series smart-home hubs, as well as a number of devices more simply and cryptically referred to as “Phones“. Many of these products have variants with model numbers ending in AN00 or TN00, which have identified them as 5G-capable Huawei devices in the past.
Some of these putative upcoming smartphones, such as the otherwise unidentified ADY-AN00/TN00, HBN-AN00 and BLK-AN00/TN00 could be members of the premium P70 or Mate 60 lines. However, others are unambiguously referred to as Nova-series devices, outlining a number of its future generations.
This part of the leak suggests that, not only are the Nova 13 to 16 series getting both Pro and Ultra variants, each one is also getting 4G/LTE and 5G versions. This, according to a recent Reuters report, might be possible due to a new collaboration with SMIC that allows Huawei to source new 5G chipsets from the fab’s N+1 node. It is said to be equivalent to a 7 nanometer (nm) process, which might help explain why the OEM’s new “Phones” are all now associated with the Bluetooth 5.2 standard.
Nevertheless, should that even be the case, it is unlikely that these devices will be available outside China in the near future.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
