Honor has introduced the X5 Plus, its latest entry-level smartphone. Although the company has not confirmed pricing yet, the device’s specifications suggest that it will cost about as much as the Honor X6a, which retails for £129.99 in the UK. For example, Honor has equipped the X5 Plus with a 720p LCD panel (1,612 x 720 pixels) that measures 6.56-inches across and has a 90 Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, Honor has installed the MediaTek Helio G36, a 12 nm chipset with eight ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. According to the company’s website, it complements the budget chipset with 4 GB of RAM and a 5,200 mAh battery that supports 10 W charging via its USB Type-C port. Moreover, the X5 Plus features 64 GB of built-in storage that can be expanded with a MicroSD card if necessary.
Elsewhere, the X5 Plus has a 50 MP primary camera, as well as auxiliary depth of field and 5 MP front-facing cameras. For reference, the device’s primary and front-facing cameras can record videos at up to 1080p, albeit with an added portrait camera mode for the former courtesy of the auxiliary depth of field camera. Furthermore, Honor has included a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Bluetooth 5.1 chip that high-resolution codecs like Qualcomm aptX HD and Sony LDAC.
