Geniatech has revealed the XPI-3566-ZERO, another Rockchip RK3566-based single-board computer (SBC). As its name implies, the XPI-3566-ZERO should be viewed as a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W alternative, for which the company offers a Raspberry Pi OS emulator. However, it is unclear whether this is a Raspberry Pi distribution customised for the Rockchip RK3566 or simply a virtual machine image.
At any rate, the Rockchip RK3566 affords the XPI-3566-ZERO four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, an AI accelerator that delivers 1 TOPS and a Mali-G52 2EE GPU. Additionally, Geniatech equips the SBC with 512 MB LPDDR4 RAM by default, matching the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. However, the company also offers SKUs with up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as 8 GB through 128 GB pf eMMC flash storage.
Moreover, the 63 x 30 mm board features a 40-pin GPIO header compatible with the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, plus mini HDMI 2.0, USB Type-C for OTG and power, MIPI CSI and an IR receiver. Furthermore, the SBC supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity. Software-wise, Geniatech states that the SBC supports Android 11 and Debian 10, along with the aforementioned Raspberry Pi OS emulator. Currently, Geniatech is not selling the XPI-3566-ZERO directly, but you can request a quote on its website, as well as more hardware details.
