The erstwhile Eve Devices team once aspired to unleash one of the first 4K/144Hz monitors on the world. Following a lot of crowd-sourcing development (and drama), not to mention re-branding, the device is now on the market with a more conventional sales model.
The ‘all-in-one’ monitor – now known as the Dough Spectrum One – still gets the odd flash sale, however, the last of which apparently went so well that the OEM is now holding another. It discounts the HDMI 2.1-capable monitor by US$200 or €200 respectively, to US$599/€699 for its matte version, or to US$699/€799 for the glossy alternative.
As always, that price does not include the US$99/€99 Spectrum custom stand: apparently, the fact that 41% of its fans preferred their own stands was enough of a reason not to include it in the box back in the Eve Devices days. By contrast, the simlarly-spec’d (and not dissimilar-looking) ASUS TUF Gaming 28-inch monitor is priced at just under US$632 on Amazon right now, complete with stand.
In addition, the Spectrum One flash sale prices are in effect for only about 2 (for US customers) or 3 (for European consumers) days from now. As some consolation, the code F4XR1VE7YNXH might shave another €20 off that price during that time.
