Crown Princess Mary of Denmark appeared on sparkling form on Sunday, as she blew kisses to familiar faces in a church congregation.
The 51-year-old royal attended an anniversary service in Christiansfeld, as the historic South Jutland town prepared to mark its 250th birthday.
Arriving alongside Crown Prince Frederik, who looked dapper in a navy suit, mother-of-four Mary cut a striking figure in a red long-sleeved dress, which she teemed with a cream floral headpiece and strappy brown sandals.
Carrying a posey given to her by the town’s Mayor’s grandchildren outside, Mary turned and blew a kiss to a row of attendees seated behind her in the church.
The event is likely a welcome distraction for the couple from the rumours that their oldest son Prince Christian is said to be dating an Italian royal.

The couple were the guests of honour as the South Jutland town celebrated its big birthday; Christiansfeld was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018, and is known for its distinctive architecture.

It’s thought Mary and Frederik’s son Christian, who is 18 in October, is reportedly dating Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.
The 17-year-old is said to have hosted Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, 18, in Denmark in June, making the brave decision to introduce her to his grandmother, Queen Margrethe.
Royal insides said ‘they all took tea together’ and noted Chiara was extremely nervous about the meeting.

Born in Hobart, Tasmania, she met Crown Prince Frederik during the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Princess Mary’s Aussie roots have proved a dilemma for her at the Women’s World Cup – but there will be some relief that Denmark is no longer in the tournament, while the Matildas – Australia’s team – face England in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Last week, an official post saw the royal in Denmark’s colours, with a caption reading:

Hundreds of people from the UNESCO city gathered to catch a glimpse of the Danish royals

Rumours that Princess Maria was dating Prince Christian, the 17-year-old son of Mary and Frederik, were sparked after they were photographed standing next to each other at the Monaco Grand Prix in May
‘We will be cheering from “Top Over” and all the way to “Down Under” when the match against Australia starts shortly at the World Cup in football,’ read the post, which was written in Danish.
‘Come on, Denmark. Signed, The Crown Prince Couple.’
It’s been a busy summer for the Danish royals, but there has been some holiday time too.
Princess Mary was spotted enjoying a refreshing dip in the ocean during a family holiday to Ibiza in July.
Soaking up the sun on the Spanish island, the royal opted for her one-piece olive bathing costume by Danish brand Copenhagen Cartel. She previously wore the garment on Sydney’s Palm Beach in December 2022.
The mother-of-four looked much younger than her 51 years as she enjoyed a day at the beach with her husband Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.
