REITs fell slightly this week, while the broader markets were on the gaining side.
The FTSE Nareit All Equity REITs index was down by 0.01% from last week. However, Dow Jones Equity All REIT Total Return Index showed a slight increase of 0.01% on a weekly basis.
Comparatively, the S&P 500 index gained by 0.69% and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF declined by 0.49%.
The FTSE Nareit Mortgage REITs index was an outlier, having increased by 1.41% in value.
Infrastructure subsector was a major laggard, having decreased by 5.73% in value.
Self storage and industrial subsectors followed.
Health care was the biggest gainer for the week, followed by diversified and retail subsectors.
