According to the latest Android smartphone industry leaks, OPPO might have started to register a new device with a centrally-mounted round rear camera hump in order to get it approved for sale in China. However, according to the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station, it is not some kind of Find X6 Lite, but is in fact the next addition to the A series.
This line-up usually encompasses OPPO’s low- to mid-tier mobile device offerings for the year, as with the very similarly-titled Samsung Galaxy A range. However, this “A2” (also allegedly known by the code-name givenchy) seems to be a considerable visual upgrade on predecessors such as the A78 with a “flagship appearance” for its triple rear cameras – the main shooter of which is not slated to be bad either.
The “A2” is also believed to hit many front panel notes still heard in the premium mid-range arena, with a curved FHD+ 6.7-inch OLED display with 2,160Hz PWM dimming. It is also slated to have low-blue-light properties and thin bezels – however, one might have already noticed that a heightened refresh rate has not figured in this leak.
Nevertheless, the A2 might win some points back with its battery capacity, slated to exceed the standard 5,000mAh spec with ease. Despite all this, Digital Chat Station asserts that the upcoming OPPO smartphone will come with a price-tag that would “not kill you offline“.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
