Lenovo has introduced the Tab P12, a counterpart to the also new Tab M10 5G. While Lenovo has announced the pair simultaneously, few similarities exist. According to the company’s press release, the Tab P12 relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 7050, a 6nm class chipset with two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores and another six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.6 GHz and 2.0 GHz, respectively.
Lenovo pairs the two-month-old chipset with 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 GB or 256 GB of expandable storage. Meanwhile, a 10,200 mAh battery underpins the tablet, which Lenovo claims will deliver up to 10 hours of video playback, two hours less than the Tab M10 5G. Incidentally, Lenovo includes a USB 2.0 Type-C port that lacks video-out support. Still, the 293.3 x 190.7 x 6.9 mm and 615 g tablet is Wi-Fi 6 capable and will receive four years of security patches.
Unfortunately, Lenovo has only committed itself to delivering two OS upgrades from Android 13. Moreover, the tablet possesses a 12.7-inch LCD panel that outputs at 2,944 x 1,840 pixels with a 60 Hz refresh rate, along with four JBL-branded speakers, an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 13 MP front-facing one. The Tab P12 starts at €399 with a Tab Pen Plus bundled, or €499 with a detachable keyboard and the same stylus.
