Huntington Ingalls (NYSE:HII) said Monday its Newport News Shipbuilding division was awarded a U.S. Navy contract valued at as much as $528.4M to support maintenance of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in San Diego, California.
The contract covers maintenance, repair and modernization efforts for Nimitz– and Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers home-ported in and visiting the San Diego area.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to support emergent work, continuous maintenance availabilities and Chief of Naval Operations scheduled availabilities for the Navy carriers.
The company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division is the sole U.S. designer, builder and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
