Garmin has issued Beta Version 14.23 for Fenix 7, Fenix 7X Enduro 2, Epix 2, Epix 2 Pro Quatix 7 and Marq 2 series smartwatches following the release of stable updates last month. Seemingly, Beta Version 14.23 is the start of a new Public Beta cycle for these smartwatches. However, please note that the new beta build will not be available on the Tactix 7 or MARQ Aviator Gen2, nor will future beta builds.
Please see the hyperlinks for explanations about why each smartwatch will not receive future beta builds. Additionally, it is worth noting that Garmin also recently updated secure_config files as of July 19 2023. Thus, the company recommends installing new secure_config manually files before commencing with Beta Version 14.23.
Conversely, Garmin will only distribute Beta Version 14.23 as an over-the-air (OTA) update directly to your smartwatch when you select ‘Check for Updates’ within the main settings menu. With that being said, Garmin hopes to roll out new updates automatically over GCM and Wi-Fi later in this Public Beta cycle. Please see the changelog below for the full 45 changes from version 13.22:
