Britney Spears teased fans with an emotional poem from ‘a little project’ that she promised is ‘on the way’ in a slew of Instagram stories shared on Saturday.

The Baby One More Time hitmaker, 41 — who recently dropped a new single, Mind Your Business, with will.i.am — excitedly penned in a caption towards the bottom of the clips, ‘A tease for a little project on the way!!!!!!’

‘Whose readyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Had to do the yyyyyyy because for some reason my sister does that on her gram!!!!!!’ she added, referencing to her younger sibling, Jamie Lynn Spears. ‘Love y’all!!!’

The star shard three separate stories that did not contain any audio, but instead a slideshow of lines from the poem that appears to address her 13-year conservatorship.

Some include: ‘In the middle or did you get ’em?/The thieves are little/They serve little skittles/The pain no walk/We say when you talk.’

‘My feet, Jesus tell me why/You know how I move when I’m alive/They took my feet, demoralized/Emphasized my face, they wanted my mind/We want to see your face/We want to see your face.’

‘I want attention at my pace/And have a car, and leave this place/I never cried not one time/I worked 10 hours a day/4 months a slave/No days off, and no you can’t play/No door for a room and watched me/Changed, watched me shower.’

Britney also added, ‘But each week I got flowers from a grocery store/To show color adored to feel young again and maybe more/Is this even legal?/Where’s a needle, is this a joke?/No days off/And my family knows so low so low so low/My family says so/Watched me bathe, sit down behave.’

‘We ask the questions We’re here to save you/Save me from what?/Save me from what…Edge of reason to feel alive/Insanity steals most hearts/Most cry/I should have died I’m not gone lie.’

Towards the end, the performer wrote, ‘It didn’t feel normal, but what is normal/I say it again, what the f**k is normal/They broke my face/Jesus, my right hand/If I could back in time/I’d find my right hand/I’d f***ing kill’em.’

In conclusion, she ended the poem with, ‘My lighter it’s lit/It’s lit/I serve now with just spit/Significance in just spit/Or just swallow, go hollow/And follow the word.’

The pop star’s conservatorship notably began in February 2008 following a public mental health crisis, with her conservators being father, James Spears and attorney, Andrew M. Wallet.

During the 13 years she was under the conservatorship, Britney has claimed that she was mistreated and forced to work against her own will – which she appears to emotionally address in the poem shared on Saturday.

A teaser: 'My feet, Jesus tell me why/You know how I move when I'm alive/They took my feet, demoralized/Emphasized my face, they wanted my mind,' were some of the lines the singer shared

In June 2021, only a few months before her conservatorship officially came to an end, The New York Times obtained court documents that showed Britney had been asking for the end of the conservatorship for some time.

In 2016, a court investigator had written that the star, ‘articulated she feels the conservatorship has become an oppressive and controlling tool against her,’ adding that they ‘system’ had ‘too much control.’

‘She is “sick of being taken advantage of” and she said she is the one working and earning her money but everyone around her is on her payroll.’

Although she became free from the conservatorship in November 2021, the 13 years that she was under it have had a lasting effect on Britney – and also strained her relationships with her family, including her mother and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

The Toxic singer, who has since reconciled with her mother and sibling, is slated to release her anticipated memoir, The Woman In Me, later this year on October 24 – where she discusses the conservatorship.

However, in late December, her father, James ‘Jamie’ Spears, insisted to The Mail On Sunday that Britney’s conservatorship had actually saved her.

He stated, ‘Not everybody’s going to agree with me. It’s been one hell of a time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without that conservatorship? And I don’t know if she’d be alive. I don’t.’

Earlier this year in May, a source gave an update to People on how Britney was faring as she continued to adjust to not being under the conservatorship and having her own freedom.

Feeling 'pain': Some other lyrics include: 'In the middle or did you get 'em?/The thieves are little/They serve little skittles/The pain no walk/We say when you talk'

The insider explained to the outlet, ‘She had been under lock and key for 13 years. Have there been ups and downs? Yes.’

‘But some of the amazing things she’s done recently have all been her choice. She is a survivor. Despite whatever ups and downs she’s going through, she remains a survivor.’

Since the end of her conservatorship, Britney has went to tie the knot with actor, Sam Asghari, and also collaborated with Elton John for the track, Hold Me Closer, that was dropped last year.

She recently reunited and joined forces with rapper, will.i.am, for a new single called, Mind Your Business, which was released earlier last week.

The beauty previously collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas rapper on their hit 2012 track, Scream & Shout, which surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube in May.

The stars additionally worked together on the 2011 song, Big Fat Bass, and will.i.am notably was the executive producer on her album, Britney Jean (2013).

During a recent interview with Variety, will.i.am opened up about his support for the songstress and if they ever had a ‘conversation’ about her conservatorship at any point.

‘I didn’t know the depths. I can’t even…. I was a contributor, and our connection was music, and music only,’ he explained.

‘Sometimes music gets personal, but as far as the day-to-day stuff, no. I didn’t know until everyone else knew. But you put two-and-two together, and everything makes sense.’

In regards to if the pair had more collaborations up their sleeves, the record producer admitted, ‘Whatever, however and whenever, Britney, I am there for her. She’s a darling to work with, an amazing human being. I’ll always make myself available to her.’

He later gushed about Britney and her love for music, stating, ‘Her passion… she’s explosive. Do you understand? If Britney gets into the studio to make a record right now, it’s earth-shattering. You see it when she’s dancing on Instagram. You feel it. She wants to let go.’

‘She’s the inspo-est, the most electricity-bottled-up, and ready to burst. The most amazing array of colors. She’s love and passion, perspective and introspective. Whenever she wants me to be part of her next project I am there.’
