Earlier this month, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X has finally fallen below the US$300 threshold on Amazon. According to price tracker Camelcamelcamel, this even took place on July 16, when an all-time low value of US$296 had been reached. Although it has been around for more than two years, this 12-core, 24-thread chip that launched as the king of the desktop gaming processors remains a very good choice in the sub-US$300 area of the market. Currently priced at US$297, it is now discounted on Amazon by a generous 48%.
The aforementioned price tracker reveals that, based on the last 50 price changes, the average price of the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is US$325.80. Sadly, this time the discount doesn’t come with any bonuses, as it happened on a few occasions in the past, when free games or Amazon Music Unlimited subscriptions were added to the bundle to sweeten the pot.
Since the last time we mentioned a discount of over 40% for this processor, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X gained a few hundred additional user reviews on Amazon. The 4.8/5 general rating remains unchanged, and the same happens with the 90% and 5% amount of perfect ratings and 4/5 reviews. Since an updated version with 3D cache is apparently in the making, the old 5900X could be phased out by the end of the year. Even if that won’t happen, this processor will celebrate its third anniversary in less than four months, and for high-end parts like it, this is usually a venerable age.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
